Is A Natural Cat Litter Better Than Tidy Litter?

Category: Burpsblogman33 @ 4:51 pm

Let’s take a look at some of the pros and cons of natural cat litters and Tidy Litter.

Starting with Tidy Litter:

  • It’s convenient and easy to purchase
  • It’s not especially light to carry, which means you’ve to be careful you don’t injure your back
  • It’s not a green, planet-friendly product, nor is it biodegradable
  • It can expand to 15 times its original size, meaning it’s harder to dispose of
  • Over time, it accumulates into billions of pounds of non-degradable waste
  • It will track all over your house, especially as it’s not silica dust-free
  • There is nothing in this product to control the urine odors
  • Its texture isn’t particularly soft, so it will be harder on your cat’s feet
  • It’s not very well suited to multiple cat households
  • It contains toxic ingredients, so you have to be careful that your cat (or any other pet) doesn’t ingest it
  • It doesn’t last very long, so you will need to top up supplies frequently

Natural cat litters, on the other hand, are much different:

  • They’re convenient and easy to purchase
  • They tend to be quite lightweight, which places less stress and strain on your back when carrying it
  • They’re green, and also biodegradable
  • They don’t expand to up to 15 times their original size, making disposal easier
  • They therefore don’t accumulate into billions of pounds of non-degradable waste, clogging up landfill sites
  • They are low or no tracking, and they’re silica dust-free
  • They have super urine control properties
  • They have a soft texture, making them easy on your kitten’s or cat’s feet
  • They work really well for multiple cat households
  • They are non-toxic, even if ingested
  • They will last longer, meaning you don’t need to buy cat litter as often

We recently looked at several brands of natural cat litter. It is really terrific that there are now so many more choices. Previously, we only saw clay-based cat litter from the grocery stores. Now there are several brands of green cat litter that are completely biodegradable. That means planet-friendly – just what we like.

Here are the new green cat litters to look for:

  • World’s Best Cat Litter:
    • Made from whole kernel corn
    • The pellets are small and soft, so no foot injuries
    • Long-lasting freshness
    • Excellent on clumping
    • No back strain
    • Safe for all cats
    • Very green and eco-friendly
  • Feline Pine Cat Litter:
    • Made from pine
    • Small/soft pellets
    • Back saver
    • Super-long fresh scent for days (one month plus)
    • Good for all cats
    • Urine soaks into the pine and dissolves into saw dust, very green with no need for clumping
  • Feline Fresh is the lower-cost equivalent to Feline Pine, with a very similar structure and feature set
  • Swheat Scoop Cat Litter:
    • Swheat Scoop litter is made from naturally processed, secondary (non-food grade) wheat grown in the heart of the Great Plains states

    • Great for multiple cats
    • Excellent on odors
    • Light, easy on your back
    • Small and soft pellets

All in all, these are wonderful alternative safe organic cat litters that work well for cats of all ages and sizes, making cat behavior training much easier. These cat litters are very eco-friendly and non-toxic. You’ve heard the horror stories of cats ingesting toxic chemicals in their cat litter and getting sick or even dying from that stuff. Now, you have some wonderful choices that are great for the environment and won’t make your cats sick.

Please give these cat litters a try because the traditional clay litter cannot be reabsorbed into the ground and just accumulates into billions and billions of pounds of waste. Strictly speaking, clay-based litters never biodegrade because they cannot be absorbed or broken down by the organic environment. It is time for green cat litters. 100,000 truck loads of cat litter gets dumped in our land fills, do your part to stop this, go green and use only eco-friendly cat litter.
